How these magically changed on their own is beyond my knowledge. Went into Control Panel>Network and internet>Network and Sharing center: click on Media Streaming Options and recheck everything that was unchecked. RESOLVED UPDATE: yup, fixed it myself after rooting around things router/internet settings related. I now believe it may be a router issue? Any ideas? Update: clearing the cache and/or data did not fix the problemĪnother Update: I just checked my other connected devices - phone and tablet - which I rarely ever use for Plex and they both are having the same issues. Nothing has seemed to work and there has nothing useful to find in Plex forums or otherwise. I have tried force stopping and restarting the app. There is no issue with my connection on any other apps on the hardware. My desktop is showing all my libraries properly. I have never had a problem before this with Fire TV or otherwise when it comes to Plex. I am not a technical person at all so bear that in mind demanding that kind of info from me. Some other things you could try is also enabling the experimental player as well as tweaking the transcoding settings. As of a couple of days ago, my Plex app on the Fire TV Stick will not load my libraries at all. Hopefully, these settings above work for you as well. Then turn off “Direct Stream” and turn off “Direct Play.”Īnd that’s it! After setting these options above I no longer suffer from jerky or stuttering playback in Plex on my Amazon Fire Stick. Then turn off “Network discovery.” Step 3īack in the Plex options click into “Advanced.” Step 2īack in the Plex Options click into “System.” Plex just like the Chromecast with Google TV, Roku Ultra, and Fire TV Stick Max showed that movie as being available on Netflix. Make sure the quality over local network is set to “Maximum.” Note: I am running my setup on 5Ghz Wireless N. Step 1Ĭlick into “Options” in your Plex app on the Amazon Fire Stick.

I no longer have any stuttering or jerky playback.

Settings to fix jerky and stuttering playbackĪfter fiddling around with the settings and reading multiple posts in the Plex forums I seem to have finally fixed it. I know it wasn’t my network as I have a pretty beefy wireless router with Wireless N. It was happening on 650MB avi files as well as HD mkv files. After a couple weeks of using it I started to notice jerky playback occasionally and stuttering.
